Here’s to Dad. We dig the main dude in our lives; he rocks, but can I let you in on a tiny secret? I hate Father’s Day. NOT that I dislike celebrating with Justin. We LOVE spending Father’s Day together and celebrating the dude who is the powerhouse behind our family. What I hate is navigating the seemingly endless amounts of hoaky “dad themed” tchotchkes that inevitably include the saying, “World’s Best Dad” or Beer, Booze, and BBQ. Don’t get me wrong; we DEFINITELY have the world’s best dad in our house, he enjoys brewing beer, and we ALL love a good BBQ, but even the biggest BBQ buff can only handle so many cutting boards, aprons, and tongs.
My solution? A brand new watch from the folks at Jord. Justin has the Hyde watch and the Conway and wears them both all the time.
We love Jord Wood Watches in our house. You may remember my post on how to style your Jord Watch from last spring; they are versatile timepieces with a mixture of bold modern accents and classic styling. I knew when I started compiling my Father’s Day Gift Guide this year, I knew a new Jord Watch would sit right at the top.
Justin loves his Jord watches (especially this new one) because they are clean and sleek. The wood give them a warm feel with visual interest due to the natural wood tones and variation. Both of his watches dress up and down easily and are versatile in styling. And the customer service is awesome; if something happens in the first year they repair the watch. Each watch comes with all you need to keep your watch well oiled – literally!
To celebrate my favorite dude, and help you laud yours, I’ve teamed up with Jord to give YOU the chance at a $100 gift card to use on your favorite wood watch! So head HERE to win! Everyone who enter scores a sweet discount, but if you want to order NOW code “DonutsandDrama20” will snag you 20% off.
For this Father’s Day, I’ve selected several items that coordinate perfectly for a gift set that would make any of these favorite dads instantly cooler.
This wooden docking station/valet stand is a perfect item for the dad who likes a place for everything, and everything in it’s place. With a spot to charge your phone at night, and hang your Jord Watch, it looks sleek while keeping dresser tops or closet shelves organized.
For dads like Justin who love the outdoors, there are two paperweights from Abbeh on Etsy that bring the beauty of nature to his office or mancave. This “upcycled” beetle from a vintage store windowbox and pinecone pyramid (that could double as a ring holder) are both awesome options.
Does your family do a lot of traveling? If you’re looking for a way to commemorate favorite moments with Dad, look no further than these gorgeous map prints from JourneyPrintShop. It could be meaningful vacations, cities where the kids were born, or where you were married. With several different layouts to choose from and multiple sizes these are a great choice.
While we’re on the subject of wall art (and awesome items made of wood, like the Jord Wood Watch), these gorgeous family trees are one of the coolest things I’ve seen as Father’s Day options.
Do you love Parks and Recs as much as we do? We – like Ron – are big on the BBQ and all things from the grill so this cutting board is a perfect addition to our Father’s Day loot guide.
Interested in something like the map print, but not big on travel? These star maps are a fun, celestial way to commemorate the dates and locations that made Dad into Dad.
Looking for a classy and quirky way to accessorize Dad’s new Jord Wood Watch? I am loving all of the options (like this polkadot wood tie) from Bowtie Wooden Style. With multiple bowties and even lapel pins, you can accesorize dad AND any little dudes (or dudettes) in his life.
I also dig this Super Dad Mug! Justin is a big coffee guy (and, let’s be honest… I am, too) and DEFINITELY a super dude.
And last, but definitely not least: one of the most important part of our Father’s Day gifts is always a book that Justin can share with Penny (and soon her little brother). I’ve compiled a quick list of four of our favorites.
I purchased Just Like Daddy for Justin for his first Father’s Day, and it’s a super sweet book contrasting Dad’s day going to work and son’s day being “just like daddy,” with adorable illustrations. And With My Daddy: A Book of Love and Family (Growing Hearts) is from the awesome team of Jo Witek and Christine Roussey. We ADORE their books in our house and have several. It’s a touching celebration of Dad and how he makes his little humans feel brave, and loved, and playful, and so many other emotions. While the kids in the books are gendered, both books are wonderful for any dad regardless of whether they are raising boys or girls. And of course Eric Carle and Dr. Seuss are ALWAYS classics, so I Love Dad with The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Dr. Seuss’s I Love Pop! are always solid choices.
So there you have it! Thirteen awesome options to help you celebrate your favorite dude. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway and comment below what you’re giving for Father’s Day!
